Hey, everybody. It's James Bowerman with the Real Creative Group and you're watching another episode of Creative Communities. Today I'm going to give you a tour of my childhood neighborhood. This is Saybrooke in Pasadena, Maryland. Now, Saybrooke was built in the early 1990s by Koch Homes. It's a small neighborhood, and it has less than 60 homes in it. And you can see they're of the traditional type of colonial style home, a lot of two and some three car garage and a lot of them are situated on these dead end streets that end in cul-de-sacs. So you don't get a lot of through traffic. You do get the occasional geese as you can see here. But one of the things that I really love about this community is the fact that it has a lake, which is something you typically don't think of or see because we're surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay. So that's really the staple of this community. In fact, it's called Saybrooke on the Lake, which if you look at a map, it's actually called fresh pond, but that is the lake that all the residents have access to.
Now this road is going to lead us down and you'll be able to see it in the background here through the trees since we're in the dead of winter now and there's no leaves. But you see some of these homes are actually situated on the lake, have a nice lake view. And I grew up here and this is a really cool thing to have. And I remember fishing in the lake catching large mouth bass. And in fact one winter even froze over and we went out and we were ice skating on it, which is kind of crazy to think about today. I don't think it's frozen over that much in a long time.
One of the other things that I really like about this community is you see the houses are spread out. More new construction you'll see houses stacked right on top of each other. Most of the lots are at least three quarters of an acre with some going up to almost two acres.
I see another cul-de-sac here that the dead ends on the top of this hill that overlooks the lake below. It's really a cool spot. I remember actually playing inline hockey in this cul-de-sac with my friends growing up at one time.
This community does not have many homes for sale. In fact, in the last three years, there's only been six homes sold, so that's an average of two homes sold per year. They go typically in the upper five hundreds to lower seven hundreds depending on where they are and the size, ranging from four to six bedrooms, 3 to 5,000 square feet. So that's going to do it. If you're thinking about buying or want to sell in the neighborhood, please give me a call. Thanks again for watching and we'll see you again soon.
